SPRING CAMPOREE MAY 17-19TH 2024

Posted on Apr 29 2024 - 9:46pm

We had a signup sheet for our May 17th- 19th Camporee Thursday night. We now have 5 scouts signed up for the weekend Gavin Vadney, Harlan Seaman, Ethan Milo, Bradley Tice and Bryce Miller. We will be attending the Spring Camporee at Camp Workcoeman West Hartford. We will be traveling back into time. The program is attached. I have talked to almost every parent and we need more parents to sign up as leaders. When I took the Scouts to the campout at Camp Workcoeman in the Fall I was the only leader there. We camped with Troop 75 and they had the same amount of Scouts as our Troop but they 8 leaders(parents) there. The requirement for any camping event is to have 2 registered leaders. We have all these trips planned and only one parent has registered to date. I am a volunteer trying to give your kids a great program. I cannot do it alone. You do not have to be at every event but you should be able to commit to one or two. All that is required you register and take a 90minute course called Youth Protection. It also insures you for Scouting events. Unfortunately, the cost is $100.00 which goes to the BSA. Please pick up form at our meeting, take the course online and I will get the application up to Hartford.
